Step 1 - Fix Partition In Hard Disk

Before install GNU / Linux into your computer, make sure that there is enough empty space to install OS that. If you having hard disk additional, of course the matter will not be problems. On the other hand if you have one hard disk only, you may need delete any partition to provide empty space. Follow this move to check on inside space hard disk:

* Right-click in My Computer and choose Manage
* Go To Disk Management 

Note on your hard disk. Inside empty space hard disk shall be marked Unallocated's by word. If no any empty space, delete any partition (except partition C: which contains Windows). Give up this empty space about 10 GB to install GNU / Linux.

* Reminder: When you delete singly partition, all data in its will be lost. Please make backup first if you not want to lose that data.

Second Step: Install Ubuntu Into Hard Disk

Now, include CD Ubuntu (download Ubuntu 7.10 here) into CD-ROM and restart computer. Make sure you have been prior prescribe boot sequence your computer to CD-ROM.

1. Ubuntu's screen will be portrayed. Choose “Start or Install Ubuntu"

2. Double click in Install's icon. Process install would start.
3. Step 1 of 7 (Welcome): Click only in Forward's button.

Step 2 of 7 (Where are you?): Choose your area above map and Forward's click.

# Step 3 of 7 (Keyboard layout): Click only in Forward's button.

Step 4 of 7 (Prepare disk space): Choose “Guided - use the largest continuous free space". Hereby, it will install Ubuntu into empty space has been prepared just now, without break in on any partition another.

Step 5 of 7 (Migrate Document and Settings): You will be asked if you want import any account from Windows. Otherwise, click only in Forward's button. On this step you need to put your name, username,password and computer name. This name will be used if your computer visible to others on a network.

Step 7 of 7 (Ready to install) : Summary on alternative that had you make will be portrayed. Click in Install's button. Your new operating system will now be installed with the following setting (step 5 to 7)

After process install completed, message one box will be portrayed. Take out CD Ubuntu from CD-ROM you and restart computer.

Third Step: Enjoy GNU / Linux You!

When you ON computer after this, a GRUB's screen will be portrayed. Herein you can choose to enter into Windows or GNU / Linux has been installed.
