To install Ubuntu, you will need compatible hardware and an installation CD. The following guides will help you with these steps. First,check if your hardware works with Ubuntu and meets the minimum system requirements. (see SupportedArchitectures, HardwareSupport and Installation/SystemRequirements). Second, obtain an installation CD. (see GettingUbuntu). Third, if you downloaded a CD image, burn it to a CD (see BurningIsoHowto) and check to make sure it was burned correctly. (see Installation/CDIntegrityCheck). Fourth, install Ubuntu by booting from the installation CD. (see GraphicalInstall).

Step by step how to install Ubuntu Screenshots.
Step 1 : Booting from the Ubuntu installation CD or Ubuntu ISO image. Selecting the installation language base on yours. In this situation, i used english and hit <enter>.
Step 2 : Select Install Ubuntu and hit <enter>. You may choose installation modes by press F4 to select alternative start-up.
Step 3 : Welcome Page. This page you will choose the language used for the installation process and this language will be the default language for the final system too. This situation i choose english. Select the forward button.
Step 4 : Select the city in your country and time zone. Select forward button to proceed Ubuntu 8.1 installation.
Step 5 : Keyboard layout. Select which layout is most similar to your keyboard. Forward to continue installation.
Step 6 : Prepare disk space. You may use the guided or manual partition the disk. For beginners, choose the guided partition disk and it will automatically do the partition for you.
Step 7 : Creating your login account and computer name to the Ubuntu 8 desktop. You may create more than one person account after the installation.
Step 8 : Your new operating system will now be installed with the following settings. Hit the install button to proceed.
Step 9 : Installation in progress.
Step 10 : Installation complete. You need to restart the computer in order to use the new installation. Restart now.
Step 11 : Ubuntu 8 login desktop. Put your username and password to login.
Step 12 : This is your desktop looks like. Enjoy using Ubuntu 8.
