Adding a favicon on your drupal website
A favicon is one 16 x 16 images which normally are displayed in address bar in a navigator or browser. It is usually in .ico format. Now days browser support favicons in format other e.g jpg .Firefox is one excellent example.
Drupal's themes come with drupal logo as favicon. Adding favicon to drupal is very easy.First create 16*16 images for your choice. Then lead to theme section your site under “Site building".Click configure.
Administer >Themes >Configure

-> this is the size for the favicon that you will put beside your browser url.
Login to your admin panel and click on the administer
On the site building, please select on the Themes which allow user to set the favicon.
Click on the configure on which template that are you using now.
Upload your favicon in to the drupal files/bluemarine_. Click on the browse button and select your favicon. once you've already select, your path custom icon will be files/bluemarine_favicon.PNG. Note!!! please make sure you uncheck the box "use the default shortcut icon", otherwise it won't work. Save configuration by clicking the button below.
If you has put together different theme on your site,you will see they in top. Your theme click want to add a favicon to. Now scroll fell up to you chance "short cut iconf settings" .You will see checkbox “Use the default shortcut icon" checked defiantly. Click it is to unimpeded it then look down up to you see “Upload icon image". Snatch theft click and lead for your location favicon click then Save's configuration.
If you have made all of it right,you will see you new favicon has replaced default drupal favicon and now showing in address bar for your browser. You might not be seeing anything if you use earlier versions IE( IE 6 and under ).Ensure to check on with firefox,opera,chrome,other safari or browser.
