Installing Jaws CMS on your system
Jaws is a Framework and Content Management System for building dynamic web sites. It aims to be User Friendly giving ease of use and lots of ways to customize web sites, but at the same time is Developer Friendly, it offers a simple and powerful framework to hack your own modules.
How to install Jaws on your system?
Step 1 : Create you database name on your mysql. Run the Command Prompt on the start run button and type cmd. On the Command Prompt, type the command C:\>mysqladmin -u root -p create jaws and Enter root password.
Step 2 : Extract all the file that you've already download from the jaws website into the C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs
Step 3: Please check again your database name exist on the mysql. Type mysql -u root -p and followed by the root password. On the mysql monitor command connection, type show databases; . The database that you created will show on the rows.
Step 4 : Open your browser and type http://localhost/jaws/html/install/. Introduction. Welcome to the Jaws installer.Using the installer you will be guided through setting up your website, please make sure you have the following things available:
* Database details - hostname, username, password, database name.
* A way of uploading files, probably FTP.
* Your Mailserver informations (hostname, username, password) if you are using a mailserver.
Step 5 : Authentication. To make sure that you are really the owner of this site, please create a file called key.txt in your Jaws installation directory (C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\jaws\html\install\). Copy the the key and paste it onto the key.txt. You can upload the file in the same way you uploaded your Jaws install. The file should contain the code shown in the box below, and nothing else.
Step 6 : Requirements. This is requirements that need to install Jaws.
Step 7 : Databases.You now need to setup your database, which is used to store your information to be displayed later.The database that you provide details for must already be created for this process to work.
Step 8 : Create a user. You can now create a user account for yourself.Remember not to choose an easy to guess password since anyone who has your password has full control over your website.
Step 9 : Settings. You can now set the default settings for your site. You can change any of these later by logging into the Control Panel and selecting Settings.
Step 10 : Save Configuration. You now need to save your configuration file.You can do this in two ways:
i. Make C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\jaws\html\config\ writable, and hit next, which will allow the installer to save the configuration itself.
ii. Copy and paste the contents of the box below into a file and save it as C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\jaws\html\config\JawsConfig.php
Step 11 : Finished.You have now finished setting up your website!You now have two choices, you can either view your site or login to the control panel. Note: If you turned on the logging option at the first stage we suggest you to save it and move it / delete it. Thank you for using Jaws!
Step 12 : This is your Jaws website. Enjoy using Jaws.
Step 13 : Control Panel. By default you only get General tools. You may install gadgets by clicking on the Install link on the gadget box.
