Installing and setup MyBulletin Board on windows

MyBB is a free bulletin board system software package developed by the MyBB Group. It is written in PHP and licensed as free software under the GNU General Public License.

Step by step to install MyBulletin Board (mybb)

Step 1 : creating database name on the mysql. To creating new database name on mysql, click on the start run button, and type cmd to get command prompt. Type the command below, C:\>mysqladmin -u root -p create mybbdb <enter> and follow by the root  password : ******* <enter>

Step 2 : Login to the mysql database to view dabatase. To login, on the command prompt, type the command below, C:\>mysql -u root -p <enter> password : ****** <enter> and follow by the root . While you already entering the database, you may check the current database by typing this command. Please see the picture below as your assist. mysql> show databases;

Step 3 : Extracting the .zip or .tar.gz file to the apache htdocs directory/folder. In order you to install the simple machine forum, you need to extract the packages to the apache htdocs directory which is c:\program files\apache software foundation\apache2.2\htdocs. You may rename the packages name as you like. Open browser and type http://localhost/mybb/install. It will come to MyBB Installation Wizard.

Step 4 : License Agreement info. By clicking next, you agree the terms and condition above.

Step 5 : Setup on the basic setting requirement check. Before you can install MYBB, the system check that you meet the minimum requirements for installation. Click next to proceed.

Step 6 : Mysql server settings.These settings to use for your Mysql server.Fill up the server name, username, password and clik on the Next button.

Step 7 : Creating table. Connection to the database server and tables you specified was successfull create. Click next to proceed.

Step 8 : Table population. Now that the basic tables have been created. Clik next to insert the default MyBB template and these set.

Step 9 :Theme Insertion. Loading and importing theme and template file. Click next to configure the basic options for your board..

Step 10 : Board Configuration. This wizard will configure the basic settings for your forums such as forum name, url and your website detail. These settings can easily be changed in the future at MyBB admin control panel.

Step 11 : Create Administrator Account. Fill up the admin detail, password, emailing address and so on.

Step 12 : COngratulations!! Finish Setup MyBB. Click on MyBB link to see forum.

Step 13 : THis your forum MYBB will look like.

Step 14 : You may login the admin panel by typing http://localhost/mybb/admin  and you will get this login box. Fill the username and password that your create just now.
