Installing plone 3.0.3 version on the windows platform

Requirement:

1)
Python 2.5 already installed
2)
Zope 2.10.5 already installed

How’s the plone works?

Step 1
Download plone 3.0.3 version from plone site. Click 2x on the installer package.

Step 2
Click next to continue the plone installation.

Step 3
Accept the license agreement and click next to continue installation.

Step 4
Select the destination location where you want to install plone. By default it will be install on c:\program files\plone3. Click next to continue installation.

Step 5
In order you to manage plone site, you have to create an administrator account. Please enter a username for administrator account and put password. Click next button to continue installation.

Step 6
Click install to continue with the installation.

Step 7
Please wait while setup installs plone on your computer.

Step 8
Setup has finished installing Plone on your computer. Click Finish to exit Setup.

Step 9
You can check the Plone is running or not. By clicking on start>run>type services.msc. You have to make sure that the Plone service on zope instance is “started”. NOTE : YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE APACHE SERVICES IS STOP!!!!
How to run plone with Apache?

Step 10
On the Plone Controller on the program menu files, select Plone . If the status on plone is stop, you need to start plone services by clicking on the start button.

Step 11
Once the plone status is running, you can test the front page of plone by clicking on the view plone button on Site Management.

Step 12
Here the zope control panel. You can check and make sure the plone site on the contents tab.

Step 13
CONGRATULATION!!! You successfully installed plone on your machine. Once you can get to the plone home site, you can test the administrator account by login it. For the next lesson will be how to manage plone site.
