What is textpattern?

Textpattern is one open source content management system at first are developed by Dean Allen. While it is often listed among weblogging tools, his purpose aim becoming a high quality general purpose content suitable management system to inside use many contexts. Textpattern writes in PHP use one MySQL Backend's database, and versions of "gamma" 1.19 ON 4.0.x is being moved under GNU General Public License; however, future versions beginning with 4.1 will become distributed under BSD's licence. Current stable version is Textpattern 4.0.8. A flexible, elegant and easy-to-use content management system. Textpattern is both free and open source. How to install textpattern blog on your local machine?

1)Download the textpattern full package with .zip or .tar format from textpattern site.

2)Extract the file to the c:\program files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs

3)Create database name on your MYSQL Database. Open command prompt and type the command as below picture. Make sure you already install MYSQL Database!!!!!Otherwise it won’t works.

4)After creating the database name, please check your database name on you MYSQL. Follow the command as below picture.

5)Finishing creating your database you can install the textpattern blog. Open your browser and type
http://localhost/textpattern-4.0.5/textpattern/setup/index.php on the url.It will bring you to the Welcome Textpattern first setup page. Select your language and click on submit button to proceed next step.

6)Fill up the MYsql database needed such as login,password,database name and table prefix if you’re using multiple installation in one database. Click next to continue.

7)Before you proceed, create a file called config.php int the /textpattern/directory and paste the following inside the box. Click I did it button to continue next installation.

8)Create your admin login and password. Click next.

9)Congratulation!!! You successfully install Textpattern blog. Click on the main interface to go to the login page.

10)Please enter your username and password to login.

11)THis is your admin panel on Textpattern. You may create new post, manage post and etc.

12)This is your blog looks like. Have FUn using Textpattern.
